As Head of Venture Capital ou will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and activities of our Venture Capital Desk. You will lead a team of dedicated students, fostering a dynamic and collaborative environment while working to produce valuable insights and content related to the venture capital space. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your leadership skills, network with peers, and make a significant contribution to the association's mission.

You bring with you (Requirements):

• Looking for students currently enrolled in either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at Unibo; 

• Minimum English requirement: Cambridge B2 level or IELTS 7 or above; 

• Leadership skills;

• Proven knowledge in Corporate Finance, either with university courses or working experiences; 

• Ambition to contribute in the association and collaborate with the rest of the team; 

• Basic knowledge of Excel, Canva, and PowerPoint.

Desirable, but not mandatory:

• Ability to discount cash flows and work with regression models; 

• Past working experience or proven knowledge in consulting.

Your task will include:

• Monthly/biweekly market pulse, gathering the main news and events regarding Venture Capital & Private Equity; 

• Monthly case study of a Private Firm / Startup, complete of firm’s business plan analysis, evaluation of market potential, risks and challenges, assessment of current and future firm’s financial performances and evaluation of growth prospect; 

• Single topic articles, designed to offer a deep and complete understanding of a chosen subject to our audience - Contribution to UFS internship / scholarship database; 

• Collaboration with other desk for future events.

As a VC associate you will become part of a group of students whose goal is to collaborate in order to produce valuable contents regarding this specific field of interest. You will get to know other colleagues who share your same likings, exchange opinions and motivate one another.

As a DeFi Associate, you’ll be able to join a tight-knit team that works daily on improving both the association as whole and our industry knowledge. Depending on your prior experience, we’ll train you accordingly and let you pick our brains at anytime to ensure the fastest learning curve possible.

How we work in the DeFi Desk:

• Fast-paced collaborative enviroment, where the workload is shared considering individual academic and personal commitments;

• Asynchronous communication when possible, we all hate boring meetings;

• We’re not trying to replicate a corporate working environment, or at the very least, not picking the negatives they have;

• Frequent in-person meet-ups depending on the period to foster a sense of community within the DeFi desk, and the whole association.

You bring with you (Requirements):

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at University of Bologna; 

• Great writing and communication skills in both English and Italian; 

• Ambition, drive, and eagerness to impact the association with your uniqueness. We strongly believe in individuals potential, and you are no exception; 

• Natural curiosity in distributed ledger technologies. 

Desirable, but not mandatory:

• Prior experience in DeFi, i.e. being able to research and interact with decentralized financial primitives;

Your tasks will include:

• Research protocols, narratives, and macro-economics events that affect directly or indirectly the DeFi scenario; 

• Draft and design parts of our monthly Market Pulse, where we condense the month’s happenings in DeFi; 

• Write for our newsletter, further improving your English writing skills; 

• Chance to take part in public speeches at our events presenting in-depth research (e.g. FTX case study).

As a Marketing Associate, you’ll be responsible for managing and executing our organization's internal and external communication strategies.

You bring with you (Requirements):

Your tasks will include:

• Developing and implementing communication strategies that effectively promote the organization's mission, events, and initiatives;

• Creating and designing high-quality graphics for social media content, events, and other materials:

• Coordinating with other team members to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels:

• Collaborating with external vendors and partners to maximize exposure and reach.

As an HR Associate, you’ll be active in managing and programming the workforce needed to keep UFS functioning and to grant continuity over time for the association.

• Frequent use of the WhatsApp group.

You bring with you (Requirements):

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at the University of Bologna; 

• Great writing and communication skills in both English and Italian; 

• Ambition, drive, and eagerness to impact the association with your uniqueness. We strongly believe in individuals’ potential, and you are no exception; 

• Natural curiosity in Human Resources management. 

Desirable, but not mandatory:

• Prior experience in HR; 

• Proficiency with Notion, Canva, MS Office, and Google Docs tools.

Your tasks will include:

• Be updated on the projects of the Desk to evaluate the workload of each team member; 

• Organize and manage the recruiting process, screening CVs, interview candidates, and find the best fit who can help grow UFS; 

• Keep updated on good practices for HR;. 

• Work side by side with the relation team to obtain internship projects for UFS members.

In Relations we are focused on managing the relations with both the University and its professors, but also sponsoring the club to the companies. Our main goals are: find new firms, professors and alumni which would like to collaborate and/or sponsor us, meet all the University’s requirements for finally being recognized (reach compliance), and, generally speaking, find new opportunities for the club.

How we work in the Relations desk:

• Collaborative environment with shared workload to make everyone able to manage with his/her personal and academical goals; 

• Communication is very frequent and primarily through messaging app; 

• We encourage other event staff to take the initiative. Different ideas can turn an ordinary event into something extraordinary.

You bring with you (requirements):

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at University of Bologna; 

• Great writing and communication skills in both English and Italian (Necessary); knowledge of tools (e.g. Canva, ppt) would be a plus; 

• Possibility to be present for the club’s stakeholders; 

• Be objective and able to negotiate and to say some no; 

• Be an active and organized person, that loves to expand its network. Having some contacts with some companies in the area would be a plus.

Your rasks will include:

• Monitor the requirements needed for compliance and complete them; 

• Scout around looking for new companies willing to collaborate with the club, listen to their conditions and schedule new events sponsored by them, both on a national and an international level; 

• Keep updated about all the knew possibilities for the club.

As a member of the Events Team you will be responsible for organizing and managing every aspect of an event. This includes the planning, design, production, promotion, overall coordination and profitability of an event.

Your tasks will include:

• Administers all phases of the event department, including but not limited to sales, planning, marketing, servicing, and administrative procedures; 

• Ensure that all aspects of event planning have strategic value in reaching the event’s goal; 

• Develop the right strategies to eliminate or mitigate the risks, ensuring that on the event day logistics are running smoothly;

As a Financial associate you will become part of a team whose duty is to manage the association’s finances and raise funds as well as contribute to UFS growth as a whole. You will work in tandem with your collaborators, with whom you will exchange ideas, opinions and motivate one another.

How we work in the F&L Desk:

• Shared workload, in order to not take too much time away from each individual’s personal/academic sphere; 

• Communications and updates through text only, it’s faster and easier (there could be exceptions); 

• Periodic IRL team-building meetings; 

• We are friends before colleagues, our aim is to create a friendly and social environment.

You bring with you:

• Looking for UniBo students who are willing to spend a few hours weekly working and contributing to UFS; 

• Good communications skills in English or Italian (both is better, but it’s not necessary); 

• Driven and ambitious in achieving his/her goals and bring value for the association; 

• Knowledge in Economics, Finance and Fund Raising; 

• Great teamworker

Desirable, but not mandatory:

• Prior experience in this field;

• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Canva.

Your tasks will include:

• Raise and manage capital for UFS;

• Collaborate with the Marketing Team and Event Lead to organize profitable events or any other kind of initiative;

• Work with your team on the annual financial report or any other kind of presentation.

As a podcaster, you’ll have the possibility to interview many many professional people and do some really god networking. The podcasters need to find people to interview (collaborating with all the UFS team) and economical and financial topics to discuss.

How we work in the Podcast desk

• Collaborative environment with shared workload to make everyone able to manage with his/her personal and academical goals;

• The two podcasters will work together to find all the necessary to do a great work;

• Communication is frequent and primarily through messaging apps and google meet/ Zoom calls.

You bring with you (requirements)

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at University of Bologna;

• Great writing and communication skills in English (Necessary); knowledge of tools (video making apps) would be a plus;

• Be an active and organized person, that loves to expand its network;

• Be a creative person that has some problem solving skills and can think fast make you the perfect candidate;

• Economical or financial Knowledge would be a plus but is not needed.

Your tasks:

• Monitor and listen to what’s happening in the markets and in the world;

• Find people and topics to discuss;

• Write down transcripts (free speaking is allowed) and question to ask for the guests;

• Spend some time in the post-production processes.

The IT Director will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the technology infrastructure of the student club. This includes managing the club's website and  email system, database

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the club's website

• Develop and implement technology policies and procedures.

• Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

• Prior experience in IT support or a similar role is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of Google Sites

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

As a member of the Investment Banking and M&A desk you will participate in the creation and drafting process of desk-related content, such as market analysis, equity research, preparation of industry reports, technical analysis and trading summaries, etc., whilst working shoulder to shoulder with fellow finance enthusiasts and building up work/industry-related specific skills.

How we work in the IB desk:

• Collaborative and engaging environment where the work load is shared according to abilities of each member, thus giving you the possibility to either excel in your field of competence, or dynamically learn as time goes by, since UFS is first of all a hub to develop your skills; 

• Long and boring meetings are not our cup of tea, hence we like to keep communication as slim as possible, favouring the use of WhatsApp group, and fast paced Google Meet calls to discuss important matters on the fly; 

• We value in-person meets to foster the sense of community on which UFS was created, hence don’t be shy.

You bring with you (Requirements):

• Smart, driven and ambitious students enrolled in either a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at the University of Bologna;

• Proven knowledge in the field of Business, Economics and Finance, both in terms of current university degree and courses (e.g., CLABE, CLEF, EMI, CLEA, etc.,); 

• Fluency in the English language (writing and verbal proficiency are deemed optimal due to the international character of the association), at least B2 level / 7.0 IELTS; 

• Skilful use of Excel (and in general Office suite), Canva and Notion. Latex and PPT skills are highly appreciated;

• Will to work as a team and contribute actively to the desk’s activities. 

Desirable, but not mandatory:

• Working experience in relevant field in terms of internship or junior positions, is appreciated and will be positively valued.

Your tasks will include:

• Contribute to the drafting process of market pulses, as the ones shown on our LinkedIn page (bi-monthly frequency), presenting the key facts and events occurring in the IB – M&A world; 

• Case studies of crucial events, such as mergers, acquisitions, issuance of bonds, IPOs, SEOs, and defaults/bankruptcies; 

• Technical Analysis on indexes/stocks and Equity research; 

• Contribution to UFS internship / scholarship database aimed at providing material useful to prepare interviews; 

• Participate actively to our events (through presentations and panel discussions). Once selected you’ll be assigned, based on both your preferences and attitudes, to specific tasks, thus rendering the workload adequate and sustainable in order not to neglect your university career.
